Living in light of the Cross

There will be no service at CrossLife on March 22 and 29, 2020

With a desire to be wise, pastorally sensitive and good citizens, we have decided to cancel our worship gatherings for the next two weeks, maybe more. This is unlike anything we have seen before. How will it develop? What impact will we see in our region? These are questions that only time will answer. We, as the church, must not be panicked or overcome by fear. The church throughout history has always been ready to confront dangers when needed. Do not let our not meeting together be mistaken for cowering to the threat of this virus. No, we believe we should cancel for the reasons given above but we must always be ready to come to the aid of those who need us. If called upon, may we be ready to stand courageously in the power of our Lord to manifest his love, care, and concern for those who are impacted by the effects of sin in this world.

Martin Luther from "Whether One May Flee From a Deadly Plague"

You ought to think this way: "Very well, by God's decree, the enemy has sent us poison and deadly offal. Therefore, I shall ask God mercifully to protect us. Then I shall fumigate, help purify the air, administer medicine, and take it. I shall avoid places and persons where my presence is not needed in order not to become contaminated and thus perchance infect and pollute others, and so cause their death as a result of my negligence. If God should wish to take me, he will surely find me and I have done what he has expected of me and so I am not responsible for either my own death or the death of others. If my neighbor needs me, however, I shall not avoid place or person, but will go freely."

Our Good Shepherd reigns. Remember the words of Ps. 23 - "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."

Welcome

The gospel is the power of God to save and redeem and when it is declared compellingly from the Scriptures, amazing things happen by His Spirit: lives are changed, hardened idolatries flee the human heart, families are restored, neighborhoods are renewed, and whole cities can be changed. Really! We believe the gospel is that transformational.

Recent Sermon

We believe Christ-centered teaching is necessary for the growth of any local body. At CrossLife we desire to proclaim God's Word  faithfully with a deep and earnest belief that God can and will work mightily through His Word to convict, encourage, and strengthen His Church.
